Accused rapist: Sex offender or not?

Does anyone else think it odd that suspected child rapist Peter Bailey was in the sex offenders treatment program at Kulani Correctional Facility? He hadn't been convicted of a sex offense and wasn't in the state sex offenders registry. It makes me wonder what state corrections officials knew that the public did not. The registry was set up to warn the public about sex offenders. If Bailey was in the program, why wasn't he on the list? And if he wasn't a sex offender, why was he in the program? Perhaps the good, trusting congregation of the Hamakua Assembly of God might have viewed Bailey differently had they known that sometime during his incarceration prison officials deemed him a candidate for sex offender treatment.

A large number, but not all, of the inmates at Kulani are convicted sex offenders. While the state sex offender program is at Kulani and is the biggest single population there, other offenders are also there. Especially some for "drugs". And there are a few others.
An additional facility is on Hwy 11, mauka side, near Stainback Highway. Unless there have been recent changes, that is where inmates go for a while prior to release for either parole or finishing a sentence.

I believe that is called the Hale Nani Correctional Facility.
I thought it was a church for a long time. Then after driving by it a few times I realized what it was.

Hale Nani used to be an old police academy probably in the 60s. Then it kind of sat abandoned or hardly used for about 20 years. I think the police had a shooting range on it somewhere. I used to attend a number of baby luas and wedding receptions at the old pavilion there. At least it is being put to good use again.

CRIMINALS, SEX OFFENDERS, MAINLAND PRISONS, NEW PRISONS, it’s all a bunch of crap. I have a solution to all of this. BIGGER GUNS and free backhoe service to dig the hole. End of problem, end of the crime, end of the sex offenders, end of housing for the low life criminals.

I was in Honolulu Thursday with my wife for a scheduled doctor’s appointment. Gone for six hours and when I returned some nice people relieved me of around $25,000.00 worth of construction equipment.

This is how I make my living and support my family. With out this equipment I am without the capability to keep a roof over our heads and my family fed. Now the bleeding hearts want to keep the criminals in Hawaii and close to their family. Give me a break, just shoot them and bury em. God help the bastards that ripped me off if I ever find out who they are, they won’t have to worry about being sent to the mainland or being away from their Mommy’s and Daddy’s.
