Hold the calls, Tiffany may return

As of tonight, the County may be making accommodations for Tiffany Edwards Hunt to remain as Councilwoman Emily Naeole's legislative aide after the expected delivery of Hunt's baby in March.

Earlier in the day Hunt was making plans to return to freelance journalism and run for Big Island Press Club president in 2008, which she could not do as Naeole's aide. But later in the day Hunt said  the County Clerk has informed her that arrangements might be made to meet her on-the-job needs, including possibly working from her home.

Stay tuned to this one.

Did you just hear a "whap"? It sounded like nine people slapping their foreheads at the same time.

Naeole will still be Naeole, incapable of staking out a coherent set of positions on the critical issues facing Puna, with or without Edwards Hunt. It is good, however, that the County may finally see the need to offer modern alternatives for working mothers.
