The owner

I was a reporter for close to 17 years at the Hawaii Tribune-Herald until October 2005, when I joined the growing ranks of union leaders now formerly employed by the newspaper. (For more about what's happening at the Tribune-Herald, check out the Hawaii Newspaper Guild web site.) Since then I've been the Hilo unit representative for the Guild, a freelance writer, photographer, and blogger.  Puna has been my family's home since 1993.

I'm still not editing the comments

At least one regular here has been getting messages indicating his posts require approval by the editor. It must be a glitch because I did nothing to trigger that and other readers are getting their messages posted without my intervention. And I can't imagine what on his end could prompt that response. So if anyone else is getting the same treatment, sorry for the humbug and please let me know. I'll be talking to the Squarespace people about it.

I encountered such an error also. I had to modify my name
and leave out my blog address for the comment to go through.
